Map View and Tools
Map View and Tools
Map View is the primary viewing option for most of the application’s modules, and shows assets’ reported positions, along with any Places, Geofences, and/or Journeys, plotted on a map interface. The Map View has a number of options for customization, and a number of tools to help users interact with their assets’ reported positions.
There are two primary map modes, Live Mode and HIstory Mode, which give users the ability to toggle between viewing the most current data and viewing specific ranges of previously reported data. Each of the map modes will have an indicator box to tell users which mode they’re viewing and allow them to jump to the other mode.
The Map Tools bar will display on any Map View interface unless it is hidden by the user.
Zoom in/out buttons work as they normally do on all map interfaces. Zoom to Region requires users to click on it and then use their cursor to click and drag a box over the region to which they wish to zoom. Reveal All is a special zoom setting that zooms the map to include all assets in the visible area.
Once activated, the Ruler tool shows users the distance (in default units) between any two points of any segments the user draws. Users can drag the positions after they’ve been placed and the distances will update automatically.
Show Your Location
If a user has given the browser and application permission to use the location of the user’s device, it will display the user’s current position on the map.
